Arthur's Pass Café & Store has been welcoming locals and travellers for many years. We're well known for our food, coffee and friendly service. Enjoy a quick snack or a hearty meal – our delicious range of freshly prepared food includes hot or cold food ready to go, or order from our menu for cooked breakfasts and tasty meals.
Being an iconic Kiwi café, we are renowned for our great pies and savouries, home-baked cakes and slices, mountain breakfasts, ice-creams (very large ones) and, of course, fabulous espresso coffee. We're also licensed, offering craft beers and New Zealand wines.
Hopefully you have time to stay and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Arthur's Pass National Park. If you sit on our outside terrace you are likely to meet a playful Kea, New Zealand's indigenous mountain parrot. On a Winter's day you'll be cosy in our café and lounge, where you can access our free wi-fi.
Our friendly team members are locals and international travellers on working holidays, who make the most of living and working in this stunning alpine environment.
Our store supplies a good range of groceries as well as beer and wine. We also have a selection of quality New Zealand merino clothing and souvenirs.
Petrol and diesel are available during our opening hours (and sometimes for an after-hours call out!). This is the only fuel supply for almost an hour in either direction.
Arthur's Pass is the highest and most stunning pass across New Zealand's Southern Alps. Arthur's Pass Village is a tiny settlement in the Arthur's Pass National Park. The historic Village is home to just a few permanent residents, a Department of Conservation information centre, a delightful stone chapel and our Café & Store. The TranzAlpine Scenic train stops here and the occasional steam train excursion travels to Arthur's Pass from Christchurch. We welcome many visitors who come to enjoy the year-round recreational activities – spectacular hiking, mountaineering and skiing, or call in when travelling between Christchurch and the West Coast. The landscape is breathtaking, with mountains, often snow-capped, native forest, rivers and snow-fed waterfalls.
Accommodation in the Village includes Bed & Breakfast, motels, back-packers and camping. When you visit Arthur's Pass you'll probably encounter New Zealand's inquisitive and comical alpine parrot, the Kea.
The Arthur's Pass Café & Store is situated in the heart of Arthur's Pass Village, in Arthur's Pass National Park, Southern Alps, New Zealand.
